Hwacheon Paro Lake 100-Ri (40km) Fresh Air Path

Gangwon-do Hwacheon-gun, referred to as the 'Land of Water', is the home of dams and lakes, including Hwacheon Dam, Peace Dam, Chuncheon Lake and Paro Lake.
The Hwacheon Paro Lake 100-ri Fresh Air Path runs for 42 km along the Bukhan River. It has no steep hills or difficult curves, and is an easy route which anyone can enjoy.
This circular route passes by Ggeomeokdari, Ddansan Recreation Site, Hwacheon Dam, Hwacheon Hydro-power Plant, Seojiri, and the Lotus Flower Complex, and incudes a section passing over the water to Bungeo Island. It offers diverse scenery including dense primitive forest. There are white misty fogs along the river in the morning and fantastic sunsets in the evening.

Bus
  • Buses to Hwacheon, via Gapyeong and Chuncheon, leave from East Seoul Terminal every 30 minutes. The trip takes 2 hours and 40 minutes.
